okey, last night i was out and was asking some students "Pc or console?"
So now we need to talk..
its wasnt that long time ago that the PC was our only choice if you wanted to play online .
But lisen to this the first console that included a modem for playing games online was
Sega Dreamcast :
Sega dreamcast came out 1998 (Only in Japan)
The dreamcast wasn´t that big success so they where throwing it in tha trash 2001.
But after that one we have playstation 2 , Xbox , and even old Gamecube introduces online cpabilities.
Microsoft´s Xbox live service is still in leading but sony are going strong and they have big plans for online content for playstation 3.
so the live functions on console is still growing and getting bigger and bigger! (mohaha)
BUT(um) Pc is still the lagrest section of online games...
such as wow (world of warcraft) its huge on pc .
BUT pc gaming can be an absolutly technical nightmare compared to the concole gaming.
And yepp it is harder to learn how to play console games, how to lern to turn around quick and stuff like that.
you need to practise and have fast thumbs. but thats the part of the game i think ;)
one of the biggest advantages that the pc have that consoles dont (get) is that there re a lot more games available for the pc than there are for the consoles.
and then i meen multiplayer online games.
AND YES pc games are cheaper than console games but pc is also much more vulnerable to viruses and other security breaches.
And really when you are installing a game on youre pc is always a bit of gamble. and you never know if its goign to work until you´re actually playing the game and back in youre mind youre expecting it to crash at any moment ;) HAHA
And i also know that spotgames and platformgames and even racing games are really good at consolle and that many prefer multiplayer online games on pc but at the same time online playing ptions for console are getting better all the time. but still pc are dominant platform for online gaming.
BUT I PERFER CONSOLE !
fo my question for you guys is ..
CONSOLE OR PC ?
Okey just becuse my brother knows everything i post his comments here to :
PC.
And for the record the Famicom (Japanese NES) was actually first with a modem, sure you could not play against anyone through it but who cares about details these days.

And just to correct myself The Atari 2600 had an addon which allowed you to download games.

And in 94-95 there was an addon for the SNES and Genesis which allowed you to play games online, sure only in certain areas of the US and it shut down in 97 but anyway...

Anyway! the Dreamcast was not first with a modem.

PC, totally. It's the one and only machine you need in a home. You can use it to game, surf the internet, watch movies, work on it and so on.
ReplyDeleteI agree that some games, like racing games for example is better on console, but on the other hand, why don't buy a controller to the computer :)
I'm going for console... I'm to eager to play a newly bought game so I don't have the time to install, check prestanda and probably have to upgrade that too... No, my PC is for creating music and doing other work, not for gaming. Also if you get the skills on a controller I say that the experience is just as well as having a mouse in your hand... which I like to have during other types of activities that I'll leave out here. Don't want to get too naughty haha ;)
ReplyDeleteBoth because different game genres work best on different platforms. Generally I play more PC games.
ReplyDeleteThough question...so many pros and cons on both devices. I'll have to make a quick chart.
ReplyDeleteMy 10 awards go to:
User friendliness - Consoles
Most available games - PC
Game pricing - PC
Best multiplayer experience - PC
Sexiest case - Consoles
Device pricing - Consoles
Best online communitys - PC
Most usefull - PC
Most comfortable playing - Consoles
Interface device compatibility - PC
The winner is by 6-4 the....PC!
Daniel that was a good one! =)
